LTS Cloud Storage

Your Footage, Safe Off-Site

What Is LTS Cloud Storage?

LTS Cloud Storage adds an off-site, encrypted backup layer to your existing camera system — without replacing the hardware you've already installed.

LTS Cloud Storage service overview LTS Cloud Storage features overview

Local recorders are vulnerable in ways most people don't think about until it's too late — theft, fire, flood, or simply a hard drive failing after years of constant writing. LTS Cloud Storage keeps a copy of your footage somewhere none of that can reach: encrypted, redundant, professionally managed cloud infrastructure, accessible from a phone or browser anywhere you have an internet connection.

How It Works

A small on-site connection device bridges your existing cameras or NVR to the cloud — no rewiring, no exposing your network to the internet.

Cameras / Existing NVR Local network only LTS Cloud Connect Device No port forwarding Local buffer storage HTTPS / TLS Internet Encrypted transit channel only — nothing inbound Secure Cloud Data Centre AES-256 at rest SOC 2 / ISO 27001 Redundant storage If internet drops: footage buffers locally, then syncs
1

Connect

A small on-site device connects to your cameras or NVR over the local network — no internet-facing configuration on the cameras themselves.

2

Encrypt & Upload

Footage is sent out over an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection — the same class of encryption used in online banking.

3

Store Securely

Video is encrypted again at rest in the cloud data centre, with automated redundancy across the hosting infrastructure.

4

View Anywhere

Access live and recorded footage from a phone, tablet, or browser — without ever opening a port on your router.

Where Your Footage Is Hosted

Your footage doesn't sit on a private server in a back office — it's hosted on enterprise cloud infrastructure built and certified to handle sensitive data at scale.

Major Cloud Infrastructure

Footage is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) — the same cloud infrastructure trusted by thousands of major global brands, rather than a proprietary or in-house server.

Independently Certified

The hosting infrastructure is certified to ISO 27001 and SOC 2 — internationally recognised standards for information security management and data handling controls.

Regional Data Centres

Footage is stored in the data centre region nearest to the customer, with automated backup and redundancy built into the infrastructure to protect against data loss or outages.

Built-In Redundancy

Data is automatically backed up and replicated across the hosting infrastructure, so no single point of hardware failure puts your footage at risk.

Built on Banking-Grade Security

Every layer of the system — from the device on your wall to the data centre your footage lands in — is encrypted.

AES-256 At Rest

Footage stored in the cloud is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption, the same standard used to protect classified data.

TLS in Transit

Footage travels from site to cloud, and from cloud to your viewing device, over encrypted TLS/HTTPS channels at every step.

No Port Forwarding

No ports are opened on your router and no inbound internet access to your cameras is required — removing a common attack vector entirely.

Regular Penetration Testing

The platform undergoes regular external security testing and frequent updates to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Who Can Access Your Footage?

Only you, and the users you choose to grant access to. Footage is never accessed by anyone else unless required by law or specifically requested by you for support purposes — and any such access requires multi-factor authentication and is logged and flagged internally.

Keeps Recording Even When the Internet Drops

A flaky internet connection shouldn't mean a gap in your footage.

LTS Cloud Storage network resilience

If the internet connection at your site fails, the on-site connection device keeps recording to its own local storage rather than dropping footage. Once the connection is restored, everything recorded during the outage is automatically uploaded to the cloud — so a router reboot or an ISP outage never becomes a gap in your evidence.

  • Local buffer storage on the connection device itself, ranging from tens of gigabytes up to a full terabyte depending on the model.
  • Automatic catch-up sync once connectivity returns — no manual intervention required.
  • Works over 4G/5G as well as fixed broadband, useful for sites without reliable fixed-line internet.

What You Get

Beyond just backup, LTS Cloud Storage gives you a full remote management layer for your camera system.

Centralised Viewing

Monitor every camera across every site from one dashboard — web browser or mobile app — with secure remote access from anywhere.

Flexible Retention

Choose how long footage stays in the cloud — from a minimum of 2 days up to 10 years, sized to your budget and compliance needs.

Multi-User Permissions & SSO

Add unlimited users with tailored permission levels, plus single sign-on support so logins integrate with your existing identity provider.

Camera Health Alerts

Get notified the moment a camera goes offline or malfunctions, rather than discovering it during a post-incident review.

Audit Logs

Every login, viewing session, and system change is logged — full accountability for compliance and internal review.

No NVR Required

Record straight to the cloud with compatible IP cameras and remove the local recorder entirely, or keep an existing NVR and add cloud backup alongside it.

Optional Add-Ons

AI Analytics, When You Need It

Layer in smarter detection on top of your cloud storage plan as your site's needs grow.

Smart Motion

Object and person/vehicle detection to cut down false alerts.

Licence Plate Recognition

Automatic capture and logging of vehicle plates.

People Counting

Footfall tracking and trend data across entrances.

PPE Detection

Automated checks for safety compliance on site.

Recording Specifications

Resolution and bitrate scale with your camera, recorded straight to the cloud.

Camera Resolution Recorded Cloud Quality Compression
SD 640×360 H.264 or H.265
2MP / 1080p 1080p H.264 or H.265
4MP 4MP native H.264 or H.265
Up to 8MP / 4K Up to 8MP native H.264 or H.265

Recording can be motion-triggered or continuous 24/7, at a standard frame rate of 10fps. Many sites choose to record a higher-resolution camera at a lower cloud resolution to manage storage cost and bandwidth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from customers considering LTS Cloud Storage.

Do I need to replace my existing cameras or NVR? ⌄
In most cases, no. LTS Cloud Storage works alongside a wide range of existing professional cameras, NVRs, and DVRs via a small on-site connection device. It can also fully replace the need for a local NVR if you'd prefer to record straight to the cloud.
Is opening ports on my router required? ⌄
No. No port forwarding or router configuration is required at any point. The on-site device only makes outbound encrypted connections — nothing needs to be exposed to the internet on your network.
What happens if my internet goes down? ⌄
The on-site connection device keeps recording to its own local storage during an outage, then automatically uploads everything once the connection is restored — so you don't lose footage from the gap.
How long is footage kept in the cloud? ⌄
Retention is flexible, from a minimum of 2 days up to 10 years, depending on the plan you choose. Longer retention is generally used for compliance-driven sites such as financial services, healthcare, or government contracts.
Can it run over a 4G or 5G connection instead of fixed broadband? ⌄
Yes. Because no port forwarding is needed, the system works reliably over cellular routers as well as fixed-line internet — useful for construction sites, remote locations, or temporary installations.
Who can actually view my footage? ⌄
Only you and any users you specifically grant access to. Support staff cannot view your raw footage except in extreme circumstances required by law or explicitly requested by you, and any such access is multi-factor authenticated and logged.
