LTS Platinum ANPR Dual Camera Hybrid

CMIP7C44WLPR-32R

A purpose-built licence plate recognition camera that solves the fundamental problem with single-lens ANPR: you can't zoom in on a plate and get a wide scene at the same time. The CMIP7C44WLPR-32R puts two independent 4MP sensors in one housing โ€” a dedicated 8โ€“32mm motorised zoom ANPR channel and a 4mm fixed Colour247 panoramic channel โ€” running simultaneously.

Add deep learning AI for face capture, vehicle detection, and perimeter protection, plus native Akuvox intercom integration for gate/barrier control, and you have a complete vehicle access solution in a single PoE bullet.

Why Dual Camera? Because One Lens Can't Do Both.

A standard ANPR camera forces a trade-off: zoom in tight enough to capture a plate, and you lose the scene context. The CMIP7C44WLPR-32R solves this with two independent channels running simultaneously.

Installer tip: set it and forget it.

Channel 1 motorised zoom lets you dial in the exact capture zone at commissioning โ€” zoom in on the lane, autofocus, lock it. Channel 2 runs wide automatically. One camera head, one cable run, two independent streams to your NVR.

How LTS ANPR Works

The dual-channel design captures both the detail and the context โ€” critical for evidence that holds up and access control that actually works.

Not Just Plates. Full-Scene Deep Learning AI.

The CMIP7C44WLPR-32R runs on-camera deep learning inference โ€” no separate server required. It's an ANPR camera that's also a face capture, face recognition, and perimeter protection system.

Licence Plate Recognition

98%+ recognition accuracy on both standard and complex-structured plates. Blocklist and allowlist with up to 10,000 records โ€” trigger separate alarms for each list. Supports both entry and exit lanes. Motorcycle LPR supported in checkpoint mode.

10,000 plate records

Face Capture + Comparison

Simultaneously detects and captures up to 120 faces per frame. Grading algorithm picks the best shot automatically. Face comparison against a library of up to 150,000 faces across 10 separate libraries โ€” ideal for resident or employee lists.

150,000 face library

Vehicle Attribute Detection

Goes beyond the plate โ€” captures vehicle type, colour, and brand. Detects up to 60 targets simultaneously including human body, face, and vehicle in the same frame. Useful for incident review when a plate is obscured or missing.

60 simultaneous targets

Perimeter Protection

Active on both channels. Line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exit โ€” all filtering by specified target type (person or vehicle only). Drastically reduces false alarms from animals, lighting changes, and foliage movement.

Both channels active

Integrated with Akuvox โ€” Complete Vehicle Access

LTS Australia is an authorised Akuvox distributor. The CMIP7C44WLPR-32R pairs directly with Akuvox door stations and SmartPlus cloud for a fully managed vehicle access control system โ€” plates, intercom, and barrier in one solution.

LTS ANPR + Akuvox โ€” One Access Platform

Combine ANPR for automatic vehicle entry with Akuvox video intercom for visitor management and manual override โ€” managed from a single SmartPlus cloud dashboard.

1

Vehicle Approaches

LTS ANPR camera reads the plate. Channel 2 captures the full scene including driver face and vehicle type.

2

Allowlist Match

Plate matched against up to 10,000 records. Authorised plate triggers relay output โ€” barrier opens automatically. No intercom required.

3

Unknown Plate? Akuvox Intercom

Unregistered visitor is prompted via Akuvox door station. Resident or guard approves from app or indoor monitor โ€” gate opens on approval.

Best practice for installers: Deploy the LTS ANPR camera at the vehicle entry lane, connect the relay output to your boom gate controller, and pair an Akuvox door station (E18, R29, or X912) for pedestrian/visitor management. Manage both systems from the Akuvox SmartPlus cloud and LTS Connect app โ€” your client gets one login for complete entry control.

Where Installers Are Deploying This

The dual-channel design and deep learning AI make this camera the go-to for any site where vehicle identity matters.

Gated Communities & Apartments

Automatic entry for residents on the allowlist. Unknown visitors trigger the Akuvox intercom. Blocklisted plates raise an alarm. Complete vehicle and pedestrian management in one system.

Car Parks & Parking Stations

Capture every entry and exit with time-stamp and plate. Pair with boom gates for pay-by-plate systems. Channel 2 gives full-scene evidence for disputes and incidents.

Industrial & Logistics Sites

Authorise contractors and delivery trucks by plate. Blocklist unauthorised vehicles. Face capture on drivers for combined vehicle and person verification at high-security entries.

Schools & Childcare

Track all vehicles entering and exiting. Identify unauthorised persons approaching the site. Perimeter alerts on both channels flag after-hours intrusions.

Commercial Driveways & Retail

Works in direct sunlight, at night, and in mixed lighting (headlights, street lights, shadows) thanks to 140dB WDR. Colour247 overview identifies vehicle colour and type even when IR only is active.

Cold Climates & Harsh Sites

Built-in heater and demist module for reliable operation from -40ยฐC to 60ยฐC. IK10 vandal-proof housing. IP67 sealed. This camera runs in conditions where consumer-grade equipment simply stops working.

140dB True WDR โ€” The Toughest Lighting Challenge, Solved

Driveways and entry points are the hardest lighting scenarios in CCTV โ€” direct sunlight from outside, headlights at night, fluorescent overheads inside a boom gate booth. A camera with inadequate WDR either washes out the plate or loses the scene. 140dB True WDR handles every combination: bright daylight entry with a dark undercover area, nighttime headlight glare, and direct backlight through windows โ€” simultaneously.

Installer FAQ

Common questions about deploying the CMIP7C44WLPR-32R on vehicle access sites.

Do both channels record simultaneously? โŒ„
Yes. Both Channel 1 (ANPR zoom) and Channel 2 (Colour247 overview) stream and record independently and simultaneously to your LTS NVR. Each channel appears as a separate camera in your NVR interface โ€” both with their own recording schedules, motion zones, and stream settings. You consume 2 channels on your NVR for one physical camera head.
What power does it need? Can I run it on a standard PoE switch? โŒ„
The camera requires PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, Type 2) rated at up to 24.7W. Standard PoE (802.3af, 15.4W) is insufficient. You'll need a PoE+ capable NVR port or a PoE+ switch. Also accepts 12VDC or 24VAC via the terminal block if PoE is not available. Always check your NVR's per-port PoE budget and total budget when planning the system.
How do I set up the plate blocklist/allowlist? โŒ„
Plate lists are managed via the camera's web interface or through the NVMS-V3 client. You can add up to 10,000 records manually, import via CSV, or add plates automatically from captured reads. Each list can trigger separate alarm outputs โ€” for example, allowlisted plates trigger the relay to open the gate, while blocklisted plates send a push notification and trigger an alarm. The LTS Australia tech team can help with initial commissioning if required.
How does it connect to the barrier/boom gate? โŒ„
The camera has 2 alarm relay outputs (max 24VDC, 1A). Connect one output to your barrier controller's trigger input. Configure the camera to activate this output when a plate matches the allowlist. Most standard boom gate controllers accept a dry contact trigger. For more complex integrations (timed gates, two-lane systems, ANPR-only bypass), refer to the technical integration guide or contact LTS tech support.
How far away can it read a plate? โŒ„
At 32mm tele, the DORI Identify distance (suitable for licence plate recognition) is 40 metres. This is the max distance for confident plate reading under good conditions. In practice, most installations are set up for a 5โ€“25m read distance at the point the vehicle is stopped or slowed (e.g. boom gate, speed bump). At 8mm wide, the identify distance is 15m. The motorised zoom lets you fine-tune at commissioning to match your lane length exactly.
Is it compatible with third-party VMS platforms? โŒ„
Yes. The camera supports ONVIF (Profile S, G, and T), ISAPI, SDK, and ISUP. Basic video streaming will work with any ONVIF-compatible VMS. ANPR and deep learning event data is accessed via ISAPI/SDK โ€” full feature compatibility depends on your VMS. For guaranteed full ANPR integration including plate event data, LTS recommends pairing with an LTS NVR and NVMS-V3. Contact LTS tech support for specific VMS compatibility questions.

Installation Best Practice: Getting the Angle Right

The CMIP7C44WLPR-32R's 98%+ plate-read accuracy depends as much on where and how it's mounted as it does on the camera itself. This guide covers correct mounting height, horizontal and vertical angle, and distance for pole, wall, and ceiling installations โ€” so every install captures a clean, readable plate on the first pass.

The Three Angles That Make or Break a Read

HEIGHT (H) ฮธ vertical angle DISTANCE (L) ABC 123 Bird's-eye: horizontal angle ฯ†
โ‰ค 30ยฐ

Horizontal angle between the lens axis and the direction of vehicle travel. Straighter is always better.

15ยฐโ€“25ยฐ

Vertical / pitch angle from horizontal down to the plate. Stay under 30ยฐ โ€” beyond that, read rates fall off fast.

ยฑ 5ยฐ

Plate tilt/skew tolerance in-frame. Keep the camera level (no roll) so plate characters sit horizontal.

Pole, Wall, or Ceiling โ€” Choose the Right Mount

The CMIP7C44WLPR-32R's 8โ€“32mm motorised zoom on Channel 1 lets you fine-tune framing at commissioning, but getting the physical mount right first is what keeps the angle within tolerance.

Height & Distance by Site Speed

Site type Vehicle speed Mounting height Distance to plate Ch.1 zoom setting
Gate / boom barrier / entrance < 30 km/h 2.0 โ€“ 3.0 m 4 โ€“ 6 m Wide end (~8โ€“12mm)
Driveway / carpark lane 30 โ€“ 50 km/h 3.0 โ€“ 4.5 m 6 โ€“ 10 m Mid zoom (~16โ€“20mm)
Main road / estate entry 30 โ€“ 60 km/h 3.5 โ€“ 6.0 m 8 โ€“ 15 m Tele end (~24โ€“32mm)
High-speed / highway approach > 60 km/h 5.0 โ€“ 6.0 m* 15 โ€“ 25 m Full tele (32mm)

*Identify-range plate reads on the CMIP7C44WLPR-32R's Ch.1 tele end (32mm) reach up to ~40m under good conditions โ€” always confirm actual plate pixel width on-site during commissioning rather than relying on height/distance figures alone. Ranges above reflect general ANPR/LPR installation practice adapted for this camera and should be validated against the site survey.

Commissioning Checklist

Camera mounted facing the vehicle head-on โ€” horizontal angle within 30ยฐ of the direction of travel.
Vertical/pitch angle kept between 15โ€“25ยฐ (never exceeding 30ยฐ) down to the plate zone.
Camera body level โ€” no roll, so plate characters sit horizontal (ยฑ5ยฐ tilt max).
Ch.1 motorised zoom (8โ€“32mm) dialled in and locked so the plate fills ~150โ€“300px in width.
Mount is rigid โ€” no sway or vibration that could blur plates during night OCR capture.
IR/illumination range matches the set capture distance (up to 100m supplemental IR).
PoE+ (802.3at) confirmed at the switch/injector โ€” standard PoE will not power the heater.
Built-in heater active in cold climates; housing sealed to IP67 rating at all cable entries.
Ch.2 Colour247 overview (4mm) framed to capture full-scene context and approach.
Plate list (blocklist/allowlist) and relay/barrier trigger tested end-to-end on-site.
Installer tip: angle beats distance. A camera mounted slightly further away but square-on to the lane will consistently out-read one mounted closer but at a steep side or pitch angle. When the site forces a compromise, prioritise staying within the 30ยฐ horizontal / 25ยฐ vertical envelope over minimising distance โ€” use the motorised zoom to recover detail instead.
