Akuvox Access Control

Open Any Gate. From Anywhere.

The Akuvox WR01 and WR01-L Web Relays turn any gate motor, door strike, boom gate or roller door into a remotely controlled access point β€” by browser, HTTP API, Bluetooth, or (on the WR01-L) a simple phone call over 4G.

The Problem

Not Every Door Needs an Intercom

Car park boom gates, rural property gates, equipment compounds, communal roller doors, storage units β€” plenty of access points just need a reliable, secure way to trigger a relay remotely, log who did it, and control when it's allowed.

The Akuvox Web Relay is a compact, network-controlled edge relay controller built for exactly that job. Two relays, two inputs, a built-in web server and an open HTTP API β€” with an LTE version for sites where running a data cable simply isn't practical.

Product Spotlight

Two Models. One Platform.

Both models share the same hardware core, management tools and install kit. Choose the WR01 for wired sites, or the WR01-L when you need 4G connectivity and phone-call activation.

Akuvox WR01 Web Relay

The wired workhorse. Power and data over a single Cat cable via 802.3af PoE, or feed it 12–24 V AC/DC from an existing gate or door supply. A built-in 12 V / 0.5 A output can run a lock or sensor directly β€” no second power supply needed.

Everything the WR01 does, plus 4G LTE, a SIM card slot, a 4G antenna and three LTE signal LEDs. Add caller-ID activation and authorised users can open a gate simply by calling the relay's SIM number β€” no app, no Wi-Fi, no data cable back to the building.

Key Features

Built for Installers

Small enough to sit inside a gate motor housing or on a DIN rail in a switchboard β€” and flexible enough to fit almost any power and network situation on site.

01

Wide Voltage + PoE

Accepts 12–24 V AC or DC as well as 802.3af PoE in one housing β€” tap into the existing gate supply or run power and data down a single cable.

02

Built-in 12 V Output

A 12 VDC / 0.5 A output powers a lock, strike or sensor directly from the relay, saving a separate power supply on smaller jobs.

03

Browser & Open API

Manage everything from a standard web browser β€” no client software. The open HTTP API lets you trigger relays from third-party platforms and automation systems.

04

Bluetooth Proximity

BLE 5.0 lets authorised users open the door or gate from their phone as they approach β€” no reader or credential hardware required.

05

Local Users & Logs

Stores up to 20,000 users and 100,000 access logs on the device, with access schedules to control who can open what, and when.

06

Akuvox Ecosystem

Supports Akuvox cloud management, auto-provisioning, SDMC and ACMS Pro β€” plus config backup/restore and firmware upgrades for easy fleet maintenance.

WR01-L Β· How Caller-ID Access Works

Call. Verify. Open.

1 Β· Call

  • Authorised user calls the SIM number in the WR01-L
  • Works from any mobile phone β€” no app needed

2 Β· Verify

  • Relay checks the caller's number against its user list
  • Access schedules decide whether entry is allowed right now

3 Β· Open & Log

  • Relay triggers the gate, boom or door
  • Event is recorded in the on-device access log

Where It Gets Used

Applications

Rural property gate surrounded by treesWR01-L

Rural & Farm Gates

Long driveways and paddock gates with no network nearby. A WR01-L inside the gate motor housing gives the owner, family and contractors call-to-open access over 4G.

Aerial view of a car parkWR01 Β· WR01-L

Car Parks & Boom Gates

Control boom gates for staff, residents or tenants with Bluetooth proximity, caller-ID, or via API from a booking or parking management platform.

Fenced construction siteWR01-L

Compounds & Construction Sites

Temporary or remote sites where cabling isn't worth it. Grant trades access by schedule, remove them when the job's done, and review the log afterwards.

Closed metal roller doorWR01

Strata Roller Doors & Common Areas

Add managed access to garbage rooms, bike stores and garage roller doors without a full intercom β€” and integrate into an existing Akuvox site.

Open electrical control panel with DIN rail circuit breakersWR01

Storage & Equipment Rooms

Simple, logged, scheduled access to plant rooms, comms rooms or storage units β€” DIN-rail mounted right in the switchboard, triggered by browser, phone or API.

Network cabling in a comms rackWR01 Β· WR01-L

Integration & Automation Projects

Use the open HTTP API to trigger relays from third-party software, smart-home platforms or custom workflows β€” a clean bridge between software and hardware.

Note: The WR01-L requires an active mobile SIM (not included). For caller-ID activation, use a SIM plan with voice service on a network with good coverage at the install location β€” check the LTE signal LEDs during commissioning.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the WR01 and the WR01-L?
The WR01-L adds 4G LTE, a SIM card slot, a 4G antenna, three LTE signal indicators and caller-ID activation. Otherwise the two models share the same relays, inputs, power options, user capacity and management features. The WR01-L is slightly taller at 164 mm vs 154.45 mm.
How is the Web Relay powered?
Either by 802.3af PoE, or by 12–24 V AC/DC (12 VDC/1 A, 24 VDC/500 mA, 12 VAC/1 A or 24 VAC/500 mA). On the WR01-L, LTE provides the network link only β€” the unit still needs one of these power sources.
Can it power the lock or strike directly?
Yes β€” both models have a 12 VDC output rated to 0.5 A maximum, suitable for powering one connected device such as a lock or sensor. Check your lock's current draw; higher-draw locks will need a separate supply.
Does the WR01-L come with a SIM card?
No. The SIM is supplied by the installer or end user. If you want caller-ID access, choose a plan that supports voice calls, and confirm coverage at the site.
How do I access it for the first time?
After wiring, connect to the web interface on the default static IP 192.168.1.100 from a browser on the same network. No additional client software is required.
How does it mount?
On a wall using the supplied anchors and ST3Γ—20 screws, or on a standard DIN rail using the supplied clip β€” ideal for installation inside switchboards or gate-motor enclosures.
Can it integrate with other systems?
Yes. The open HTTP API allows third-party platforms to trigger the relays, and the unit supports Akuvox cloud management, auto-provisioning, SDMC and ACMS Pro.
Do I need a trade account to buy it?
LTS Security Australia supplies to licensed security professionals. Register for a trade account to view pricing and order, or call our NSW office on (02) 9135 8750.
