WHAT IS DEEPVISION

AI that actually understands what's in the frame.

Most NVRs record video. DeepVision reads it. Every DeepVision NVR runs on a large multimodal model โ€” the same category of AI behind modern image-and-text search โ€” that maps what's on screen and what you type into one shared space. That's what makes it possible to search footage the way you'd search the web.

It's a different starting point than traditional motion-triggered CCTV search. Instead of tagging a handful of pre-set events, DeepVision builds a searchable understanding of everything the camera sees โ€” so a query like "silver car" or "man in a blue jacket" returns real matches, not a wall of motion clips to scrub through by hand.

DeepVision NVR โ€” explained ยท Watch on YouTube โ†—

From a few words to the exact clip.

Semantic Search runs in two stages: your DeepVision NVR builds an index in the background while it records, then your search runs against that index instead of the raw video.

STEP 01

Every frame gets read

DeepVision-enabled cameras and the NVR's multimodal model process each frame as it records โ€” people, vehicles, objects and scene context.

โ†’
STEP 02

Mapped to one shared space

Images and text are embedded into the same vector space, so a written description and a video frame can be compared directly.

โ†’
STEP 03

Indexed with your footage

The searchable index sits alongside your recordings โ€” nothing needs to be re-analysed later, even weeks after the fact.

STEP 04

Type it, find it

Type a description or select a target, adjust the similarity score, and DeepVision returns a ranked grid of matching moments.

TWO TOOLS, ONE NVR

Direct-Search and Facial Recognition solve different problems.

DeepVision NVRs ship with both features built in โ€” here's how to know which mode fits the job in front of you.

Good to know before you spec a job: Facial Recognition and Direct-Search cannot run simultaneously on the same DeepVision NVR. Both also require compatible AI Color 24/7 or Color 24/7 cameras โ€” standard cameras will still record, just without AI search results.

Direct-Search 3.0

  • Matches on the metadata your cameras already capture โ€” clothing, vehicle type, general attributes
  • Works from a side angle, from behind, or at a distance
  • No enrolment or face database required
  • Built for tracing a target's movement across an entire site

Facial Recognition

  • Matches against your own permitted & blocked lists of enrolled faces
  • Needs a clear, front-on view of the face
  • Best for access screening and VIP / blocked-list alerts
  • Runs across every channel at once to flag watch-list matches instantly
WHAT YOU NEED

DeepVision is built into the Platinum Plus range.

Three things need to line up for it to work end to end:

1

A DeepVision NVR

Look for "DeepVision, MD2.0, Facial Recognition, Direct-Search" on the spec sheet โ€” standard across the 8, 16 & 32-channel Platinum Plus range.

2

Compatible cameras

AI Color 24/7 or Color 24/7 cameras generate the metadata Semantic Search and Direct-Search rely on. Other cameras still record fine, just without AI search results.

3

The DeepVision interface

Semantic Search, Direct-Search and Facial Recognition are all run and configured from the same NVR interface โ€” no separate software or subscription.

Semantic Search โ€” type a description in plain English, right from the search bar.
Ranked Results โ€” matches return as a thumbnail grid, sorted by similarity score.
WHERE IT EARNS ITS KEEP

Built for the sites where footage review actually eats your day.

Retail & loss prevention

Describe a shoplifter on one camera, then find every other aisle and entry they walked through in seconds.

Shopping centres & malls

Quickly trace a lost child, a person of interest, or an incident across dozens of cameras at once.

Warehouses & logistics

Follow a forklift, truck or delivery vehicle's full route through the yard without switching cameras by hand.

Schools, campuses & access control

Screen visitors against permitted and blocked lists automatically, and locate a person of interest across a large site fast.

GETTING STARTED

Set up is quick once you have the right hardware.

1

Check your NVR supports it

Confirm "DeepVision" appears on your model's spec sheet โ€” standard on the 8, 16 & 32-channel Platinum Plus DeepVision NVRs.

2

Confirm a compatible camera is connected

At least one AI Color 24/7 or Color 24/7 camera needs to be on the channel you want to search.

3

Choose your mode

Turn on Semantic Search, Direct-Search or Facial Recognition in the NVR's system settings โ€” remember, Facial Recognition and Direct-Search can't run together.

4

Search from Playback or the search bar

Type a description, or draw a box around your target, set filters, choose a time range, then search.
