Akuvox EB12 Silver Exit Button
The Akuvox EB12 is a wall-mounted mechanical exit button designed to give staff and residents a fast, reliable way to release a door from the secure side of an access-controlled entry. Finished with a brushed aluminium alloy faceplate in silver, the EB12 combines a rugged, tamper-resistant build with a simple momentary switch action, making it a practical accessory for offices, apartment buildings, warehouses and any site running an electric strike, maglock or Akuvox door phone.
Key Features
- Brushed aluminium alloy panel for a durable, professional finish that resists scratches and wear
- High-strength mechanical button built for frequent, heavy-duty daily use
- Self-resetting momentary switch that automatically returns to its normal position after every press
- Clear "PRESS TO EXIT" engraving for intuitive, unmistakable operation by any user
- NO/NC (normally open/normally closed) output for flexible wiring into most third-party access control panels and Akuvox door phones
- Compact footprint of approximately 86 x 86 x 33.5 mm, sized to fit standard electrical back boxes
- Simple two-wire connection for straightforward installation and troubleshooting
- Silver finish that suits modern commercial and residential fitouts
Typical Applications
The EB12 is installed on the inside of a controlled door - such as an office entry, apartment lobby, stairwell or warehouse dock door - and wired to the input terminal of a door phone, access controller or electric lock relay. When pressed, it momentarily triggers the door release circuit, letting people exit without needing a card, PIN or fob. It pairs naturally with Akuvox door phones and intercoms, and its NO/NC output also allows it to integrate with most other brands of access control hardware already installed on site.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the EB12 be used with non-Akuvox access control systems?
Yes. Its NO/NC output is a standard wiring configuration supported by most third-party access controllers, electric strikes and maglock relays, not just Akuvox devices.
Does the button need external power?
No. The EB12 is a passive mechanical switch - it draws power from the connected access control system or door phone rather than needing its own power supply.
What happens after the button is pressed?
The switch is self-resetting, so it automatically returns to its default state as soon as it is released, ready for the next use.
