This cable is ideal for connecting an NVR or DVR to a nearby monitor in a control room, reception desk, or back-of-house office where a 5 metre run is required. Because HDMI is not designed as a long-distance transmission standard, cable runs of 5 metres or more can place additional resistive load on the HDMI output circuit of some recorders, which may degrade the connection over time. For runs at this length, LTS recommends fitting a powered HDMI booster or extender near the NVR to relieve strain on the unit's HDMI port and help maintain a stable, long-term connection.
